About Us

Driven by a belief that those who participate in the legal process in the United States of America involve themselves in the fullest privileges of democracy in action, Sharon F. Blakeney defends and protects the legal interests of individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations everyday.  Her practice areas include election law, general civil litigation, business law, public interest litigation, family law, estate planning, wills and probate, and mediation.

Ms. Blakeney had the distinct honor and privilege of being an attorney of record in the 2000 Presidential Election litigation in Florida .  As one of only a handful of distinguished lawyers in the country involved in the history-making litigation, she assisted lead attorney Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel representing absentee voters in the Martin County and Seminole County cases.  This experience culminated in her delivering the appellate briefs of the absentee voters to the steps of the Florida Supreme Court in the middle of a worldwide media frenzy.  Her participation as a member of the “Florida Recount Team” led to her receipt of an award from the Republican National Lawyers Association, and was one of the most gratifying for Ms. Blakeney in her legal career, representing her desire to blend her knowledge of the law with her sense of responsibility as a citizen.

Prior to opening her own practice, Ms. Blakeney was an attorney with the Texas Justice Foundation in San Antonio , Texas .  At the Texas Justice Foundation, Ms. Blakeney’s practice areas included parental rights, constitutional law, election law, limited government, and private property rights.  During her tenure at TJF, Ms. Blakeney made numerous media appearances on radio, television and print media, and spoke at numerous conferences throughout the country, including the University of Houston Law Center, Reclaiming America conferences in Florida and California, and the state and local chapter meetings of the Federalist Society.  Ms. Blakeney now serves as a Distinguished Fellow of the Texas Justice Foundation.

Ms. Blakeney obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center in Houston , Texas and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Tyler . Prior to practicing law, Ms. Blakeney was a Financial Advisor with a Fortune 500 financial company offering fee–based financial planning to businesses and individuals for retirement, estate planning and general investing.  Ms. Blakeney’s strong work ethic and client commitment earned her the “Rising Star” award for highest production of all financial planners hired in the previous four years.  Building on that expertise, she became a Senior Financial Advisor with a nationwide bank.  She supervised and trained investment representatives in three bank branch locations in Houston , as well as serving as the banks’ compliance officer for all SEC and NASD regulations for those facilities.  This experience contributed to her broader knowledge of securities and estate planning law and employee and business management.

Sharon F. Blakeney is licensed to practice law in all courts in the State of Texas , in the United States District Court for both the Northern and Western District of Texas, in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States .  She is also a Certified Mediator.  Ms. Blakeney is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Republican National Lawyers Association, and the Kendall County Bar Association.  She is currently President of the Kendall County Bar Association and has served as the Vice-President and Secretary in previous years, as well as a member of numerous committees for the organization.  She serves as a Distinguished Fellow of the Texas Justice Foundation, is a graduate of the Alliance Defense Fund National Litigation Academy , and has been named a member of the Honor Guard for the Alliance Defense Fund.  Ms. Blakeney served as the Vice-President of the Kendall County Republican Women for 2002 and is a member of the Kendall County Republican Club.  She is also a member of the Boerne Chamber of Commerce and a graduate of Leadership Boerne.  She has served her community, state and nation through her pro-bono legal representation of at-risk youth, battered women and children, and non-profit Christian organizations.  Ms. Blakeney was an attendee of the Florida Recount Reunion and the 2001 and 2005 Presidential Inaugurations Washington, D.C.  She was listed as Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, and is a member of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology.  She served as a mentor to at-risk youth throughout her college education, is the mother of one son, Cody, age thirteen, and is a member of Oak Hills Church , San Antonio , Texas .
