Professional Biography

Driven by a belief that those who participate in the legal process in the United States of America involve themselves in the fullest privileges of democracy in action, Sharon F. Blakeney defends and protects the interests of individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations everyday.  Her practice areas include election law, public interest litigation, family law, business law, estate planning, wills and probate, and mediation.

Ms. Blakeney has served as legal counsel in two of the most historic elections in our nation's history.  In January 2010 when Republican Scott Brown won the late Democrat Ted Kennedy's seat in the U.S. Senate, Sharon F. Blakeney was in Massachusetts working with the Brown campaign's legal team that monitored polling places.  Ms. Blakeney served as part of a team of attorneys who monitored, documented and challenged violations of election procedures and voting irregularities at nine polling locations in Boston.  In 2000, as one of only a handful of distinguished lawyers in the country involved in the history-making litigation following the 2000 Presidential election in Florida, she assisted lead attorney Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel representing absentee voters in the Martin County and Seminole County cases.  This experience culminated in her delivering the appellate briefs of the absentee voters to the steps of the Florida Supreme Court in the middle of a worldwide media frenzy.  Her participation as a member of the “Florida Recount Team” led to her receipt of an award from the Republican National Lawyers Association, and was one of the most gratifying for Ms. Blakeney in her legal career, representing her desire to blend her knowledge of the law with her sense of responsibility as a citizen.

Sharon F. Blakeney is licensed to practice law in the United States Supreme Court, in the United States District Court for the Northern and Western Districts of Texas, and in all courts in the State of Texas.  She is also a Certified Mediator.  Ms. Blakeney is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the International and Family Law Sections of the State Bar of Texas, the Republican National Lawyers Association and the Kendall County Bar Association.  She served as the President of the Kendall County Bar Association in 2005, and has served as Vice-President and Secretary in previous years, as well as a member of various committees for the organization.  In 2001 Ms. Blakeney's law office, comprised of Ms. Blakeney and a colleague, was chosen as the “Best Law Firm in Boerne” by the readers of the Boerne Star.  She is a Distinguished Fellow of The Justice Foundation and has been named a member of the Honor Corps for the Alliance Defense Fund.  She was the founder and served as President of the Texans For The Right To Vote non-profit organization from 2002-2005.  Ms. Blakeney served as the Vice-President of the Kendall County Republican Women for 2002 and is a graduate of the Boerne Chamber of Commerce Leadership Boerne program.  Ms. Blakeney obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center in Houston, Texas and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Tyler.  She was listed as Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, and was a member of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology.

Sharon F. Blakeney's philosophy is her work ethic – to advise her clients with the utmost regard for their well-being, representing and protecting their interests at all times with the highest integrity.  Ms. Blakeney's practice is located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country in Boerne, Texas.
